G & S Transport is committed to engaging with stakeholders in a respectful, culturally appropriate and transparent manner, whilst making a positive contribution to the community in which we work and live.
Our HSECQ management system provides the framework for how this is accomplished and provides detail on:
- Establishing and maintaining effective consultation and communication mechanisms with our customers and the community we work within.
- Engaging with the community in which we work through sponsorship of local events, individuals and sporting groups.
- Promoting the employment and development of young people through our support of apprenticeships.
- Respect for and consideration of the cultural and social systems of Indigenous Australians.
- Providing support for Indigenous Australians through either employment or subcontracting opportunities.
- Establishing, monitoring and measuring community and indigenous engagement objectives and targets.
- Raising community and indigenous engagement awareness of all employees and stressing personal accountability.
- Complying with or exceeding all applicable Sacred Site regulatory and Australian Standard requirements.
- Establishing productive relationships based on trust, respect and mutual benefit during all community interactions.
- Continually improving the HSECQ management systems through review, maintenance and promotion.
All employees and subcontractors are expected to participate actively in, and accept individual responsibility for their interactions with the community and indigenous people and work in partnership with management to enhance and develop our level of engagement.
